June 2000

This month's PathMax Distinction Award goes to the designer of the web page entitled:

WebCoag

WebCoag is a suite of tools for interpreting coagulation profiles. Part 1 of the suite allows you to select a diagnosis and the computer will return the typical results of a battery of screening coagulation tests. Part 2 allows the user to enter a coagulation profile and the computer will return a differential diagnosis list which fits the profile. Part 3 contains a list of coagulopathies and their mechanisms and suggested therapies.

In all, the suite works as a dynamic textbook and is useful for the day to day workup of coagulopathies as well as a board study tool.

The winner demonstrates an integrated approach to web-based coagulopathy education in an intuitive, well-designed interface. Congratulations to:

Andy Nguyen, MD, at the University of Texas, Houston
